PHARR - Helen K. Garza, 72, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at her
residence.
Born in Pharr, Mrs. Garza had lived there all of her life and was a member of
St. Jude's Catholic Church. She was employed by PSJA ISD for over 25 years as a
bookkeeper and most recently as secretary for the PSJA North Band until her
retirement in 1998. Even after she retired she was an active volunteer with the
PSJA North Raider Band.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Maria Garza; her parents, Kostas
and Victoria Kolas; and a brother, Adam Kolas.
Mrs. Garza is survived by her four children, Ismelda I. (Robert) Moroles, Jesus
Ruben Garza, Noel (Mary) Garza, Roel "Roy" (DeAnna) Garza, all of Pharr; and
eight grandchildren, Joseph Robert Moroles, Samantha Renee Moroles, Nicholas
Noel Garza, Lauren Michelle Garza, Michael Adam Garza, Victoria Anne Garza, Max
Gabriel Garza and Daniel Adam Garza.
