MICHAEL MELVIN RUTLEDGE

SAN JUAN - Michael Melvin Rutledge, 15, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at McAllen Medical Center.

Born in McAllen, Michael was formerly of Pharr and had lived in San Juan for five years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan and was a student at PSJA North. Michael was a member of the PSJA North Raider Band, participated in drama and the Dual Language Program and was former mascot for the San Juan Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, barbecuing and spending time with his family and friends. Michael was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone.

Michael is survived by his parents, Melvin and Nelda Rutledge of San Juan; a sister, Jennifer Rutledge of San Juan; paternal grandparents, Melvin and Leonor Rutledge of Pharr; maternal grandparents, Jesus and Consuelo Garza of Mission; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
